What this site does not do
The public pages set no cookies until you allow one thing: Google Analytics, which counts page visits so Beta can see which pages help people. A banner asks first. If you say no, or say nothing, nothing from Google loads and no cookie is set; your answer is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and you can change it any time under "Privacy choices" in the footer.
Google Analytics, if you allow it
With your permission the site loads Google Analytics 4. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by the property id, which hold a random identifier for your browser for up to two years, and it sends Google the pages you view, the links you click on this site (which button, not what you typed), your language, rough location from your network address, and your browser and device type. Beta configures it with advertising features off, Google signals off and data retention set to the shortest period Google offers. Analytics never runs on the pages where you type personal details: the application, the callback form, the referral, the contact forms and sign-in. Nothing you enter in a form is ever sent to Google. [COUNSEL REVIEW B-8: TRACKING TECHNOLOGY ON A COVERED ENTITY'S SITE]
There are no advertising pixels, no session replay, no tag managers beyond the Analytics tag itself, no chat widgets and no other third-party scripts. Search terms you type into the facility directory or the guides stay in your browser.
The application form
During the current period, "Apply for ALW" opens Beta's application form hosted by PandaDoc, outside this website. What you enter there goes to Beta's ALW team under Beta's agreement with PandaDoc; PandaDoc's own notice applies to that page. This website does not see what you type there.
Callback requests
The callback form collects your name, phone number, an optional short message and the best time to call. It is sent only to Beta's ALW team, over an encrypted connection, so that a person can call you back. It is not an application and does not put anyone on the state waitlist. Please do not include medical details, Medi-Cal numbers or Social Security numbers.
Text messages and emails
When you ask for a verification code, we send one text message to the number you give. If you choose an email link, we send one email. We use that number or address only to verify you and to contact you about your application or referral. Message frequency varies for optional application updates, which you can decline. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell or share your mobile number or text-message opt-in information with third parties for marketing. We do not use it for marketing at all.
Applications and referrals
Health, Medi-Cal and identity details are asked only inside a verified account, and only what the ALW waitlist request needs. That information is protected health information and is handled under Beta's Notice of Privacy Practices.
Your choices
