Before you begin

What you will be able to do

  • Check, before the first hospice visit in an RCFE, that the home's waiver, the resident's own hospice contract and an agreed written care plan are all in place.
  • Review a draft hospice care plan against section 87633 and name each missing or improper part, including the home's duties and the staff training.
  • Check a hospice resident's record, roommate statement and medication handling against the regulation's lists before a licensing visit.
  • Report a hospice stop, a plan deviation or a threatening incident to the right parties on time, including the CCA for an ALW participant.
