What changed
The California Department of Social Services published the updated SSI/SSP amounts for people living in licensed care homes, the Non-Medical Out-of-Home Care (NMOHC) standard, effective January 1, 2026. The notice sets out the maximum basic-services amount and the personal and incidental allowance.

Residents who pay room and board from SSI/SSP, their families, facilities and benefits staff.
What to do
Use the current dated figures, and keep the room-and-board part separate from the larger basic-services amount. The costs page shows the 2026 figures with their source and the date they were checked.
